Man found shot, lying in the street in North Baltimore

City police found a man who was shot and lying in the street in North Baltimore on Wednesday morning.

At 5:50 a.m. officers responded to the 5000 block of Laurel Avenue for a report of a male lying in the street.

They found the victim, 39, sitting on the curb, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was alert and able to speak. He told officers he was walking in the area when he heard loud pops and then realized he had been shot.

Medics took him to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Citywide Shooting detectives are asking anyone with information to call them at 410-396-2221 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7lockup.

Police on Wednesday also identified a man who was shot and killed on Monday in the 2300 block of Bryant Avenue in West Baltimore as 28-year-old Deandre Brown.

Officers were called to the area at 4:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting, but were unable to locate a shooting victim. A short time later, police said Brown and another victim arrived at an area hospital.

Brown died from his injuries at the hospital. The second victim, a 29-year-old man, was treated and released.
