Woman shot in West Baltimore early Friday, police say

A 31-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder early Friday morning in West Baltimore, according to police.

Officers responded to a reported shooting about 1:48 a.m. in the 600 block of Appleton St., in the city’s Midtown Edmondson neighborhood, and found the injured woman, police said.

The woman, who was not identified, was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Police said they were interviewing a “person of interest” in the case, but the person was not identified.
