City police on Tuesday identified a mother and son who were fatally shot inside their West Baltimore home.
Police identified them as Patricia Mosley, 69, and Samuel Jones, 42, who were found inside their home in the 2200 block of Poplar Grove in Walbrook with gunshot wounds to the head and face.
Police do not have a motive or suspects.
Firefighters were called to the home at 12:51 p.m. because smoke alarms were going off. Mosley was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead, and Jones was pronounced dead on the scene.
"They were nice people," said neighbor, Kevin Yancy, 45. He said the neighborhood has been pretty quiet in the past year, since he moved in. He was not at home when the shooting occurred but came home to find police at his neighbor's home.
"It's just a shame that that happened and had to be like that," he said.
Family could not be reached for comment on Tuesday. Family and friends told WJZTV Mosley was a minister.
"Whatever happened here today, she had nothing to do with it, and its very sad to know she was taken away in the midst of whatever else was going on," Rodney Mosley, Mosley's nephew, told WJZ TV on Monday.
Homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP. Those that provide information leading to an arrest and indictment are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
