A 44-year-old man was found beaten in an East Baltimore alley and later died at a hospital on Sunday night, police said.
Police were in the 1800 block of North Montford Avenue in the Broadway East neighborhood around 6:14 p.m. after someone reported an assault. In an alley, they found the victim suffering from head trauma. The man was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police have not yet released the victim's name.

Separately, a 19-year-old man was shot in the ankle in East Baltimore on Sunday night, police said.
The man was found in the 2100 block of Aiken Street in the East Baltimore Midway neighborhood around 6:30 p.m., police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
