Man, woman injured in Northeast Baltimore double shooting

A man and a woman were injured in a double shooting in Northeast Baltimore's Coldstream-Homestead-Montebello neighborhood Monday night, police said.

Officers were called about 8:30 p.m. to the 1600 block of Abbotston Street, where they found the woman shot in the leg. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The man, who was shot in the shoulder, had already left the scene and later arrived at a hospital, police said. Through their investigation, detectives believe he was shot in the same incident.

The shooting followed two homicides nearby in the last month.

Davon Harper, 23, was shot to death in the 3000 block of Tivoly Ave., about five blocks away in the same neighborhood, on July 28.

On July 18, 83-year-old Charles Ervin was found dead in a fire that police said was intentionally set in the 3300 block of the Alameda in Ednor Gardens Lakeside, the adjacent neighborhood.

It's unclear whether Monday's double shooting was related to either of the earlier killings.

No information was available on any suspect or motive in the shooting. Anyone with tips may call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
