Baltimore police respond to report of fireworks, find man shot dead

Baltimore police responded to the west side late Wednesday for a report of fireworks, but instead found a man shot multiple times.

Police said the 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene in the 2000 block of West Fayette Street after 10 p.m. Police said he was shot in the head and torso.

No suspect information was given, and police said anyone with information may contact homicide detectives at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers' anonymous tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

Police are also investigating after a 24-year-old man was shot in the elbow in the Brooklyn area of South Baltimore.

Police said the man was walking on 6th Avenue around 11:30 p.m. when he heard five to six gun shots before he began running south and realizing he'd been shot.

The man was taken to an area hospital. His condition was not known Thursday morning.
