Man, 22, shot in leg in East Baltimore

A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg in East Baltimore Tuesday night, police said.

Officers were called at 10:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of East Lafayette Street in Broadway East, where the victim was found with a gunshot wound, police said.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said.

On April 28, Joel McCullum, 26, was shot to death six blocks away in the same neighborhood, in the 2400 block of East Lafayette near the Baltimore Cemetery, police said.

A 28-year-old man, whom police did not name, had been non-fatally shot in the leg four days earlier in the 2200 block of East North Ave. in South Clifton Park, the adjacent neighborhood.

Police have not said whether any of the shootings are related.
