The child's father fled, but police said on Sunday afternoon that they hope to have him in custody soon.

About 20 minutes later, a 26-year-old man arrived at the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He told police he had been shot while walking through Cherry Hill, but detectives have yet to confirm where exactly the shooting happened.

The man is expected to survive. No further details were released on the circumstances of the shooting.
