Baltimore police are investigating an apparent armed robbery at a Baltimore bar that led an employee to shoot a suspect early Sunday, police said.
At 12:55 a.m., officers responded to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where a 24-year-old man was being treated for a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. The suspect and another man were armed with guns when they entered a bar in the 4800 block of Erdman Avenue in East Baltimore and began robbing people inside, police said. Before the men ran from the location, an employee shot and struck one of the men as he reached into the front pocket of a sweatshirt, according to police.
The man took himself to Johns Hopkins, police said.
Police said the gunshot wound was "non-life-threatening," and that the man was in surgery Sunday morning. He had not been charged, police said.
