Man, woman killed in East Baltimore shootings

A man and woman were killed in shootings in East Baltimore Thursday morning.

A man and woman were killed in a shooting in East Baltimore Thursday morning, police said.

Officers were called just before 4:30 a.m. to the 700 block N. Eden Street in the Oldtown neighborhood, where they found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

A short time later, police found a woman nearby, in the 1200 block of Monument Street. She had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither victim was publicly identified by police Thursday morning. A suspect description and motive were also not available.

Homicide detectives are investigating and anyone with information may call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.

The shootings are the fourth and fifth homicides in August after a record-matching 45 homicides in July.
