Man shot in back in Baltimore's first shooting this month

A 24-year-old man was shot in the back in Northeast Baltimore Monday night — the first shooting in June, after May recorded the most violent month the city has seen in more than 40 years.

Officers were called at 6:58 p.m. to the 5200 block of Belair Road in the city's Waltherson neighborhood, where they found the man injured. They did not release the victim's name or condition, or any information on a suspect or motive.
