A 24-year-old man was found shot to death in a home in Irvington near Mount St. Joseph High School Tuesday night, police said.
Officers responded to the shooting in the 300 block of Marydell Ave. at 6:29 p.m., where they found the victim, police said.
He was not identified, and no information on a suspect or motive was released. Homicide detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.
It was the second shooting in the block in the past four months. A man was shot in the face there on Oct. 26, the fifth shooting victim in a violent weekend last year, police said.
A neighbor, Dorisell Thomas, who has lived on the block since 1989, said aside from the two recent shootings "it's a quiet block."
"It's a normal neighborhood with regular, working-class families, and most people have been around here 20 years at least," Thomas said.
The incidents won't drive Thomas out of the neighborhood, she said.
"You hear that all the time on the news," she said. "It could happen anywhere."
