A man was shot in the abdomen Tuesday afternoon not far from the intersection where a Baltimore police officer was shot earlier this month.
Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Fairview Avenue at 3:26 p.m., and a short time later found a man shot in the abdomen at Mondawmin Mall. The victim said he ran to the mall parking lot after he was shot nearby.
He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but his condition was not immediately known.
Northwestern District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2466.
Baltimore Police Officer Andrew Groman was shot Dec. 14 during a traffic stop at the intersection of Gwynns Falls and Tioga parkways, which is located in the same neighborhood as the mall, Tuesday's shooting scene and Coppin State University. He remains hospitalized.
