Man killed in Northwest Baltimore shooting Thursday afternoon

A man was shot in the head and killed in Northwest Baltimore Thursday evening.

The man was shot shortly before 5 p.m. in the 3900 block of Penhurst Avenue, in the Dolfield neighborhood, police said. The man was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The man's identity was not released pending notification of his relatives.

A 22-year-old man was also shot late Wednesday in South Baltimore, police said.

Baltimore police detectives in the Southern District are investigating the shooting, which was reported at 11:29 p.m. in the Hollins Market neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his hip. He was taken to an area hospital where police said he was listed in stable condition on Thursday. Police have no suspects.
