A man and a 15-year-old boy were both wounded in a double shooting in East Baltimore early Thursday morning, drawing homicide detectives to the scene due to the severity of the man's injuries, Baltimore Police said.
The teen's injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
Officers responded about 1:45 a.m. to the 2600 block of Monument St. on the southern edge of the city's Madison-Eastend neighborhood and found both victims wounded outside, said Detective Angela Carter-Watson, a police spokeswoman.
Both were transported to an area hospital.
The man, whose age was not immediately available, is in "extremely critical condition," having sustained at least one gunshot wound to the head, Carter-Watson said.
Carter-Watson said she could not immediately provide more details as to the teen's injuries, or regarding the shooting.
The early morning shooting comes just as city leaders are pushing to impose earlier curfews for kids and teenagers. One already exists restricting youth younger than 17 from being outside past 11 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on weekends.
