Baltimore Police have arrested one suspect and identified another in the sexual assault of two women a week ago in West Baltimore.
Quamontae Johnson, 17, of the 1300 block of Fayette Street, was arrested on Thursday and charged as an adult with armed carjacking and first- and second-degree rape, among other charges, police said.
Police also released a video of Levi Bonds, 18, removing money from an automatic teller machine. Police are asking the public's help in getting information that will lead to Bonds' arrest.
Two women were walking to their car about 8 p.m. on Aug. 18 at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Druid Hill Avenue when they were robbed by two men armed with a gun, Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said at a press conference Friday. The women were forced into the car, and made to drive it because the robbers couldn't drive a manual transmission.
The two men sexually assaulted both of the victims, Davis said. Using the women's cell phones, the men began calling people listed in their contacts and demanding ransom for the release of the women, he said.
"We are happy to report at least one of these guys are off the street and we have one to go," Davis said.
Johnson did not have an attorney listed in court records.
