Baltimore police: 1 killed, 16-year-old girl among two injured in shootings Saturday night

Three people were shot Saturday night, including a man who was shot and killed in the Madison Park neighborhood of Baltimore, the 178th homicide this year, police said.

Police responded to the 1500 block of Madison Ave. for a report of a shooting at 9:50 p.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds to his body, police said. The man, whose age and name have not been released, was taken to a hospital where he died.

The killing is the second in four months on the same block, which is less than 500 feet from Eutaw-Marshburn Elementary School. Jamar Hinton, 34, was found shot on the block on April 20 and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Also on Saturday, a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds shortly after 10 p.m. The man had been shot in his stomach, and the girl had been shot in one of her legs, police said.

Detectives believe both victims were in the 100 block of North Fulton Avenue in the Franklin Square neighborhood in West Baltimore when they were shot, police said.

Police urged anyone with information about the Madison Park killing to call 410-396-2100 or text tips to 443-902-4824, and anyone with information about the nonfatal shootings to call 410-396-2221. Police said people can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
