A man has been sentenced to 48 years in prison for stabbing four people during a fight inside Jimmy's Famous Seafood in Southeast Baltimore, authorities said.
Kevin Tusing was found guilty of first-and-second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, and three counts of use of a deadly weapon, the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office said.
"I commend the victims for coming forward and making sure this man could not do this again," Assistant State's Attorney Dennis Laye said in a statement.
Tusing assaulted a woman at Jimmy's in October then became aggressive when confronted by employees and witnesses, the State's Attorney's Office said. He stabbed several people who tried to stop him from leaving, authorities said.
On Oct. 9, police responded to Jimmy's in the 6500 block of Holabird Ave. about 1:30 a.m. and found five victims — a 29-year-old man cut in his hand, a 24-year-old man cut in his neck, a 27-year-old man cut in his left thigh and torso, a 22-year-old man cut in his wrist and stomach and a 24-year-old woman hit in her nose, police said. The victims were all treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Tusing was released on parole three months before the stabbings.
In 2005, he pleaded guilty to a stabbing outside a bar in Fells Point and to manslaughter in a shooting that same year, the State's Attorney's Office said.
"Going after violent repeat offenders has been a top priority," said State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said in a statement. "My office will continue to hold these violent perpetrators of crime accountable."
