Man killed, teenager injured in separate city shootings

A 24-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured in separate shootings Tuesday in Baltimore, police said.

Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Djuan Tillett, of the 1200 block of Valley Street in Balitmore.

Police said Tillett was shot in the head just before 5 p.m. in the 800 block of Richwood Ave. in North Baltimore's Richnor Springs neighborhood. Police intially said the shooting occurred in the 700 block. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said. Homicide detectives were investigating, and anyone with information was asked to call 410-396-2100.

Earlier, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the stomach around 3:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of N. Pulaski St. in West Baltimore, police said. At the scene, clothing that appeared to belong to the victim was on an icy sidewalk near athletic fields for Frederick Douglass High School.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, and his condition was not provided. Police said detectives from the Western District were investigating, and anyone with information was asked to call 410-396-2477.
