A Baltimore man who prosecutors said fired shots at a police officer in 2012 was sentenced this week to 12 years in prison, the Baltimore State's Attorney's Office said.
Raymond Little, 31, of the 3000 block of Barclay St., pleaded guilty in May to attempted first-degree murder and a firearms charge, and on Tuesday was sentenced by Judge Karen Friedman.
Prosecutors said on Oct. 23, 2012, officers went to the 3000 block of Spaulding Ave. in Northwest Baltimore after hearing shots fired, and saw Little running away.
Police chased Little, who fell to the ground. Officers ordered him to drop the gun, but he continued to flee and fired several shots at Det. Stephon White, prosecutors said. White returned fire, striking Little in the knee. A .38 caliber revolver was recovered from the scene by police.
