Pedestrian hit by brick as driver evades police

A man was hospitalized Friday evening after he was hit by part of a wall that was struck by a car evading police, according to the Baltimore police.

Officers on foot approached a vehicle at Kirk Avenue and 25th Street after 7 p.m. Friday, when the vehicle took off, turning onto the 2400 block of Greenmount Avenue. While turning onto the 400 block of E. 24th Street, the vehicle struck a brick wall and a parked vehicle.

A block from the wall fell and struck a man who was walking in the area. He was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was not identified. Police did not provide a description of the driver or the vehicle.

Police at the scene on Friday declined to provide information to a reporter.
