Six people were shot — two of them fatally — in six separate incidents in Baltimore between Friday night and Saturday night, according to Baltimore Police.

Three of the shootings occurred in the West Baltimore neighborhood of Sandtown-Winchester.


Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Winchester St. in Sandtown about 7:36 p.m. after the Shot Spotter system registered apparent gunfire from the area and found a 57-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Less than 10 minutes later, officers patrolling in Poppleton, also in West Baltimore, heard gunfire and soon after found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh in the 800 block of W. Lexington St., police said.

The officers applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg before he was transferred to an area hospital, police said.

The Shot Spotter system had also sent officers to a shooting in Sandtown-Winchester about 12:28 p.m., where they found an unidentified male victim fatally wounded in the 1300 block of Laurens St.

The officers determined the victim was shot in the 1300 block of Woodyear St. before running to Laurens Street, police said.

The victim, whose age was not immediately known, was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Bystander shot amid altercation outside Columbia convenience store

A 21-year-old bystander was shot amid an altercation between two other men outside a convenience store in Columbia Saturday evening.

In a separate incident at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a man was shot in the 1100 block of Hanover St., in the Sharp Leadenhall neighborhood in South Baltimore, police said.

Officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. His age was not provided.

The shootings on Saturday followed two others on Friday night.

Police were dispatched at 10:11 p.m. to the unit block of North Bruce St. in Franklin Square, in West Baltimore, where they discovered a 25-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier Friday night, at about 8:21 p.m., police were called to the 1700 block of N. Fulton Ave. in Sandtown-Winchester and found a 35-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
