Baltimore police: 3 killed, 3 injured in separate weekend shootings

Three people were killed and three were injured in separate shootings over the weekend.

At about 11:20 Friday night, officers went to the 2300 block of Jefferson Street in East Baltimore, where they found a 20-year-old man who was shot in the chest, according to a police statement. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Later that night, at about 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 1500 block of W. Baltimore Street, in the Franklin Square neighborhood of West Baltimore, where they found a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the police statement. This victim also died after being taken to an area hospital.

Police responded to a report of a third shooting on Saturday at about 3 p.m. A 55-year-old man was found on the 4700 block of York Road with a gunshot wound in the thigh. Police said he was transported an area hospital.

Then, shortly before 9 p.m., officers found a 43-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to his side in the 900 block of E. Patapsco Ave. He was taken to the hospital.

At about 11:59 p.m. Saturday, police said, officers responded to the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue in West Baltimore, where they found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his head. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

An initial investigation into the shooting found that the victim was shot multiple times after exiting a bar, according to a police statement, before the shooter fled on foot.

Police later released photos on Sunday of suspects in relation to the homicide on Edmondson Avenue. On Monday morning police said they had identified all of those suspects.

At about 6:19 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of East Madison St. in East Baltimore, where they found a 28-year-old man inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso and thigh, police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

Officers determined that the crime occurred at a nearby intersection in the 800 block of Harford Court, police said.

Police did not identify any of the victims in their statements.
