Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby is scheduled to deliver a keynote address during an event at the NAACP's national convention in Philadelphia this weekend.
Mosby will speak at the Women in NAACP Empowerment Forum and Brunch on Sunday. According to the NAACP, Mosby will "discuss the incredible ways in which women of color are breaking barriers and beating the odds through self empowerment."
Mosby's public stature has grown after her office filed charges against six police officers in connection with the arrest and death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray.
President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch are also scheduled to attend the convention.
