A man in his 20s was stabbed inside Lexington Market on Monday evening, police said.
The man was involved in an altercation when an unknown suspect stabbed him once in the back, Baltimore Police spokesman Det. Jeremy Silbert said. The suspect is believed to have fled on foot.
The incident occurred about 5:45 p.m., Silbert said. That is 15 minutes before the market closes for the day, according to its website. The market is in the 400 block of West Lexington St.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Silbert said.
Central District detectives are investigating the case, Silbert said. Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are asked to call police at 410-396-2411.
