Body found in Baltimore's Leakin Park ruled a homicide

A man found dead inside a well in Leakin Park in Southwest Baltimore on Tuesday died of trauma to his body, and his death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy, police said Wednesday.

A passerby walking on a trail near the 3600 block of North Franklintown Road reported finding the body about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, and responding fire department paramedics pronounced him dead, police said.

The autopsy Wednesday determined the cause of death to be trauma, and the Baltimore Police Department opened a homicide investigation. No further information, including the man’s identity, was released.
