Baltimore Police identify latest homicide victims, including 17-year-old boy fatally shot in Northeast

Police on Tuesday identified a 17-year-old boy fatally shot over the weekend in Northeast Baltimore as Markel Gray.

Gray, of the 6500 block of Rosemont Ave. in the city’s Rosemont East neighborhood, was found with a gunshot wound to the head about 10:55 p.m. Sunday in the 5800 block of Moores Run Court, in Cedonia.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police on Tuesday also identified Travis Carter, 30, as the man fatally shot Thursday in the 5600 block of The Alameda in North Baltimore. Carter arrived with gunshot wounds at a local hospital, where he died.

Homicide detectives are investigating both shootings. Anyone with information is asked to call them at 410-396-2100 or text a tip to 443-902-4824, or call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCK-UP.

Police on Tuesday also reported a shooting about 6:30 p.m. Monday, in which a 23-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his thigh.

Police said detectives “have received conflicting stories from the victim as to how the he was shot,” but have determined he was shot in the 4500 block of Park Heights Ave., in Central Park Heights.
