A 23-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of another man in the city in September, according to police.
Eric Carter, of the 3000 block of Lanvale St. in the Franklintown Road neighborhood, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault in the Sept. 13 killing of 34-year-old Daivon Evans in the 700 block of Poplar Grove St., in the same neighborhood.
Carter’s home is less than a quarter mile from where Evans was killed.
Carter, who was ordered held without bail at a court hearing Friday, could not be reached for comment, and did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
Carter has previously been convicted of gun and drug charges. He was arrested in Evans’ killing on Wednesday by warrant apprehension officers.
Evans was found about 1:09 a.m. bleeding heavily in the grass on Poplar Grove. A preliminary investigation revealed he had been assaulted and stabbed, police said at the time.
They did not say what had led them to identify Carter as a suspect in the case.
