Police were called 10:05 p.m. to the 5000 block of Palmer Ave. where they found Jones with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives believe Jones' death was related to the death of Kevin Cannady, which The Sun profiled in a five-part series, 'Chasing a killer.'
