Baltimore police charge attempted murder suspect

Baltimore police charged a 33-year-old man in a South Baltimore shooting.

Police say Lopaka Redding shot a 40-year old man in the 1100 block of Bayard St. on Jan. 14.

According to a statement of charges, At about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 14, the victim flagged down a police officer in the 1300 block of Washington Blvd. after he had been shot several times. The officer called for backup, and the victim told police that a man named "Flow" shot him.

Police found the crime scene and picked up seven .45 caliber shell casings, the police report said. With the help of witnesses, police said they were able to determine that Redding was "Flow."

The Baltimore area Warrant Apprehension Task Force, which tracks fugitives, found and arrested him on Tuesday. Redding faces attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

The victim sustained six gunshot wounds to his back, left arm and left hand and was last listed in stable condition, according to the police report.

Redding remains at the Baltimore City Detention Center. Court records indicate he does not have an attorney.
