A 52-year-old man was charged in the Wednesday killing of a 28-year-old woman in Oldtown, after he answered the door to detectives at his home with blood on his hands, police said Thursday.

Officers found Tieisha Wilson stabbed to death at about 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Harford Ct., and after searching her home and interviewing potential witnesses, they arrested her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, police said.

Detectives said McCarthy answered the door of his home in the 2400 block of Federal Street with a cut on his right hand and blood on his hands, under his fingernails and the New York Jets football jersey he was wearing. Police said they also saw bloody clothes in plain view at the home, and other occupants told them McCarthy had arrived there at about 9 p.m.

McCarthy was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, police said. He is held at the Baltimore City Detention Center, and no attorney was listed for him in online Maryland court records.
