Man fatally shot on Pennsylvania Avenue in Baltimore

A man was fatally shot in the Upton neighborhood of Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The 43-year-old victim was found around 4:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. He was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

Police identified him on Thursday as Corey Shell, 43, of the unit block of Tameron Place in Rosedale.

In a separate incident around 7:45 p.m., a man and a woman were shot and injured when a gunman entered a carry-out restaurant they were in and opened fire. The man was shot in the upper body and the woman was grazed. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment. The shooting took place in the 2700 block of W. Coldspring Lane in Central Park Heights.
