A man and an older woman were found fatally shot inside a house in West Baltimore on Monday afternoon, police said.
Firefighters went to the house around 12:51 p.m. because smoke alarms were going off, and found the two victims with gunshot wounds to the head and face. The 69-year-old woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, and the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Neither of the victims have been publicly identified. Police had no information on witnesses or suspects.
A few hours after the homicide was discovered, a group of family members huddled outside the home with a homicide detective. They declined to talk to a reporter. The home's entrance was blocked with crime scene tape.
