Police identify man robbed of Porsche, shot dead in West Baltimore

Suspects took Porsche from shooting victim, ditched it at crash scene thereafter, Baltimore police said.

A 58-year-old man was robbed of a Porsche Boxster and fatally shot in the head early Monday in West Baltimore, the city's police department said Monday afternoon.

Police identified him on Tuesday as Paul Hilroy Passley from the 6700 block of Brompton Road in Baltimore County.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived in the 2100 block of Vine Street in the Penrose area.

The homicide is the 19th of August and the 208th of 2015.

Police said detectives believe the incident began as a robbery. The 2001 blue Porsche Boxster was involved in a hit-and-run in the 800 block of Bentalou Street in the nearby Evergreen Lawn neighborhood, where suspects left the car and ran.

Anyone with information may call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
