A 37-year-old man died in an overnight shooting in Northwest Baltimore, police said Tuesday morning.
The shooting would be the 139th homicide in the city this year — up from 93 at the same time last year.
Police were called at 3:30 a.m. to the 4300 block of Ridgewood Ave. in the West Arlington section for a reported shooting. They found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced at 5:22 a.m., police said. He was not publicly identified Tuesday.
Homicide detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.
Several hours earlier, officers at 10:38 p.m. Monday were called to the 2300 block of Riggs Ave. in West Baltimore for a shooting. They found a 24-year old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and back. He was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, a 51-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 800 block of E. 20th St. in East Baltimore Midway, police said. Eastern District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2433.
The shooting is the 265th non-fatal shooting this year, up from 141 at the same time in 2014, police said.
Police also identified three people shot to death in the city in the past two weeks:
Allen Durant Gilbert, 34, of Seton Hill, died after being shot Sunday in the 2300 block of Belair Road in Clifton Park. No phone number was listed for his address in the 500 block of Orchard St.
Bernard Dorsey, 39, of Frankford, was killed June 16 in a double shooting that also injured another man in the 800 block of McKim St. behind Latrobe Homes in East Baltimore. A woman who answered the phone at a number listed for his address in the 4800 block of Claybury Ave. said he didn't live there.
Henry McArthur, 51, of the 2700 block of W. Mosher St. was shot to death June 15 just blocks away, in the 2700 block of Harlem Ave., where a man had been shot in the finger on May 26. A phone number listed for his home was disconnected.
