A 22-year-old man was shot to death in Frankford in Northeast Baltimore Sunday night, police said.

A 22-year-old man was shot to death in Frankford in Northeast Baltimore Sunday night, police said.

Officers were called at 6:53 p.m. to the 4500 block of Furley Ave., near Furley Elementary School, where they found a man lying in the street with gunshot wounds to the chest, police said. He was taken to a city hospital, where he died.

The shooting happened less than 24 hours and a half-mile from a fatal shooting in the 4400 block of Franconia Drive Saturday night. Police identified that victim as 28-year-old Jason Ballard, of the same address. They did not say whether the two killings — among six in the Northeast District of the city's 15 so far in 2015 — were related.

The victim in Sunday's shooting was not identified, and police gave no information on a suspect or motive.
