A 40-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday morning in the Franklin Square neighborhood, Baltimore police said.

Officers found the victim with gunshot wounds to his body at 10:30 a.m. in a home in the 1300 block of W. Fayette St. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later Wednesday a man was injured in a shooting in Belair-Edison.

At 3:30 p.m. officers found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back at the intersection of Chesterfield and Elmley avenues. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe the victim was in the 3800 block of Elmley Avenue when he was shot by an unknown suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
