Police investigating after fatal hit and run in southeast Baltimore

Baltimore Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle whose driver fled from the scene, police said.

At about 8:50 p.m. Thursday, 39-year-old Anthony Wayne was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of Dundalk Avenue and Holabird Avenue. Police said a white Chevrolet van was heading west in the 6700 block of Holarbird Avenue when the driver crossed into the eastbound lanes of Holabird Avenue and struck Wayne. The driver fled, police said.

Wayne, of the 2600 block of Molton Way, was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Later, officers found the Chevrolet van parked in the 6200 block of Beckley Street. The van was unoccupied and detectives are searching for the driver or any other occupants who were inside.
