Baltimore police look to up charges against suspects two months after victim dies

A man who was shot in September has died, and police are working to upgrade the charges against two people in connection to the murder, police said Wednesday.

Tony Williams, 21, was shot in the 3500 block of Woodland Avenue in Central Park Heights on Sept. 27. Nearly a month later, on Oct. 22, Williams died as a result of his injuries. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, as a result of him being shot in September, police said.

Two suspects, Charles Mceachin, 46, and Malcolm Jordan, 23, were arrested after the shooting and remain in Central Booking without bail. Both were charged at the time with attempted murder.

Homicide detectives are seeking warrants to have their charges upgraded to murder, police said.

Police also released the name of a 22-year-old shot in the 1800 block of Rayner Avenue in Harlem Park on Monday as Anthony Lasalle Brown, of the 3400 block of Kentucky Avenue.
