A 26-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in a West Baltimore crash Saturday that killed an 11-year-old girl and critically injured three other children, police said Monday.
Dominic Dewone McCoy, of the 2700 block of Frederick Ave., was speeding and under the influence of alcohol while driving the four children and another man in a 2000 Acura TL west in the 2800 block of Frederick Ave., police said.
The Acura crossed the double yellow line and collided with an SUV about 4:30 p.m., police said.
Police identified the 11-year-old girl who died as Laniera Middleton.
The other three children, an 11-year-old girl, a 9-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, remain in critical condition at city hospitals, police said. The front passenger of the Acura, a 35-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with injuries, but he walked out before being discharged, police said.
McCoy was arrested at the scene with no valid driver's license, police said. He is being held at Central Booking on $1.25 million bail, according to court records.
No phone number was listed for McCoy, and no attorney was listed for him in court records as of Monday afternoon.
