A man was shot to death Wednesday morning in the parking lot of a Pulaski Highway motel, Baltimore Police said.
Police said the shooting was reported around 10:20 a.m. in the 3600 block of Pulaski Highway. A man was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper body, and was transported to a hospital where he died.
The crime scene was in the parking lot of the Executive Inn, a motel.
Melanie Paulley, who has been staying at the motel for the past nine months, said she heard men outside yelling, "my friend got shot."
When she walked outside her room to see what happened, she said she saw two men searching the victim's pockets, taking cash and his wrist watch. She said the victim was laying in the mostly empty parking lot on the backside of the motel.
"He had a hole in his chest," Paulley said. She said her daughter tried to give him CPR. Paulley said she didn't recognize any of them, and didn't believe they were guests at the motel.
As police officers took notes behind a yellow crime scene tape, and a detective talked on her cellphone, an employee continued to push a housecleaning cart, stopping to clean rooms.
Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
