Two killed Friday afternoon in separate Baltimore shootings

Two killed Friday afternoon, within 20 minutes, on opposite sides of downtown

Baltimore Police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred Friday afternoon within 20 minutes on opposite sides of downtown.

The first was reported at about 3:45 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Eden St. in East Baltimore. At the scene, police set up partitions around the victim's body as it lay on the sidewalk, and the medical examiner's office later transported it for an autopsy.

That shooting occurred two blocks north of where police said a day earlier -- also in the middle of the afternoon -- two men were shot while riding in a truck and later traveled onto busy Orleans Street near Dunbar High School and crashed. One of those men died, and was identified Friday as Andre Clark Jr. of the 2800 block of Denham Circle.

At about 4 p.m. Friday, homicide detectives were dispatched to the 900 block of Pennsylvania Ave., just west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, for a report of a shooting. The victim was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died.

The homicides were the city's 268th and 269th of the year.

Police said Friday evening that the identities of the victims were unknown. Anyone with information was asked to call 410-396-2100.
