Man killed in double shooting near Clifton Park

Police investigate double shooting in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood.

A man was killed and another injured in a double shooting Monday night a block off of Clifton Park in Northeast Baltimore.

Police on Tuesday identified the victim as Anthony Richardson, 32, of the 5500 block of Seward Avenue.

The shooting occurred at 7:52 p.m. in the 1700 block of Homestead St., in the Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood.

One of the victims was found shot inside a vehicle, with the other close by, police spokesman Det. Jeremy Silbert said. Richardson was taken to an area hospital, where he died. A 24-year-old man is being treated at a hospital.

Information on the condition of the surviving victim was not immediately available.

Neighbors said the area had seen a slow upswing over the past several years.

"I'm so surprised," said Marcel Eimunjeze as he came upon the scene on his way to his tax preparation office on the same block as the shooting.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-396-2100.

The shooting brings the number of city homicides so far this year to at least 10.
