The Baltimore police department's dirt bike task force seized five dirt bikes and three ATVs Wednesday morning in Irvington, police said.
Officers executed the search and seizure warrant in the 400 block of South Augusta Avenue at 8:25 a.m. Other confiscated items included ATV parts, black face masks, a cellphone, certificate of origin paperwork and insurance documents, police said.
Some of the vehicles had been reported stolen, police said. No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
Police launched the task force in July to investigate crimes related to dirt bikes. The vehicles are illegal in the city, but officers are not allowed to chase riders. The department set up a tip line to call or text information about where bikes are kept. The department last month posted photos of known riders on social media to identify and later charge riders.
