Baltimore police are searching for a 21-year-old man they said kicked and stomped four puppies, before throwing them down a flight of stairs and leaving them in the dumpster for dead.
Police have a warrant for Donald Yearwood charging him with 17 counts of animal cruelty and animal abuse related charges after witnesses reported to police the attack at a home in the 3700 block of 10th Street in Brooklyn on Nov. 9.
Witnesses told officers they saw Yearwood kick and stomp the puppies because they were making noise as he was trying to sleep. The witnesses told police he then threw the puppies down a flight of stairs, while several young children watched. Yearwood then put the puppies in a box and left, police said.
A group of children later found the four puppies inside in the 1200 block of Cambria Street. Three were pronounced dead at the scene and the fourth was taken to an animal medical center where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Police found video from a surveillance camera in the area showed Yearwood placing the puppies into a dumpster.
Animal Control officers were called to the same home on Oct. 22, 2016, after an adult female pit bull bit a child, causing minor injuries. Animal Control took the pit bull along with six week-old puppies, and were taken to a shelter. The Animal Control Officers were unaware that there were four more puppies were still inside the home.
Anyone with information on Yearwood's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
