A Monday morning shooting in Curtis Bay on Baltimore's south side killed Jordan Hill, 23, and a 22-year-old man, police said.
Officers were called to gunfire at 3:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Spruce St., where they found the victims, police said. Hill was shot in the head and torso; police did not say where the 22-year-old was shot, but that he had "apparent gunshot wounds." Both victims were taken to a hospital.
Chris, a 47-year-old Curtis Bay resident who requested his full name not be used because of safety concerns, heard "extremely loud gunfire" from his kitchen window, which faces Spruce Street. He lost count of the gunshots after 12, he said.
He left his residence to join neighbors on the street around 4:15 a.m., where he witnessed the mother of one of the victims grieving over her son. A nearby vehicle was peppered with bullet holes, he said.
"This extreme of violence is unusual," said Chris, a five-year resident of the area. "It's defintely been getting worse since I moved here."
Last month, a 16-year-old boy, Joseph Payne, was shot to death about eight blocks away in the adjacent Fairfield Area, police said. It's unclear whether the two killings are related.
A 42-year-old resident, who asked not to be named, said she heard the screech of car tires before the gunfire began. The resident said she believes multiple shooters approached the victims, who were sitting in a vehicle.
When she left her residence, which faces Spruce Street, the victims were laying on the street.
She said going about her day after witnessing a violent evening is difficult. She is concerned about the safety of the area and her young son, who lives with her.
"That's the sad thing, it's just another day," she said. "Somebody's son is not waking up this morning."

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday night, another 23-year-old walked into a West Baltimore hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand, police said.
The victim told responding officers he had been in the 1300 block of North Carey Street in Sandtown-Winchester when he heard two gunshots and realized he'd been hit.
No further information was released in either incident.
