Baltimore Police: Two people die and another is injured in shootings Thursday

A female victim died in a Thursday evening shooting in Northwest Baltimore, police said. It was the second shooting death of the day reported by the Baltimore City Police.

Officers arrived at about 7:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue in Central Park Heights and found a victim with gunshot wounds in her chest. Medics took her to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police identified her Monday as 28-year-old Kierra Cox.


Earlier in the day, a man died of gunshot injuries in East Baltimore’s Orangeville neighborhood , police said.

Eastern District patrol officers responded about 7:10 a.m. to the 5000 block of East Monument Street for a shooting report. There, they located the 36-year-old victim, who had multiple gunshot wounds.


Medics brought him to a hospital, where he later died. Police identified him Monday as Ralph Johnson.

A 26-year-old man walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds around 1 p.m., police said. Detectives believe the shooting occurred when a ShotSpotter alert went off at the 2200 block of East Monument Street in East Baltimore’s Middle East neighborhood. The man’s condition is unknown, police said.
