A man wanted by Baltimore police in connection to a homicide surrendered early Saturday morning after firing a gun at officers and barricading himself inside a Northwest Baltimore home, police said.
Officers assigned to the department’s Northern District Station arrived in the 1200 block of Loyola Northway around 6:45 p.m. Friday to “serve an arrest warrant on a murder suspect,” said Detective Vernon Davis, a police spokesman.
At the scene, Davis said, the man barricaded himself in a residence and “used a firearm to discharge several rounds in the direction of law enforcement.”
City SWAT and crisis response teams assisted with the barricade situation, Davis said. Nobody was injured.
The man surrendered “without further incident” around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Davis said.
Davis said Saturday morning he could not provide the man’s identity or what he was charged with.
