Several shootings in Baltimore resulted in the death of one man and injuries to five others on Wednesday night and early Thursday, police said.
Baltimore Police responded to the 2400 block of Winchester Street in Bridgeview/Greenlawn at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday for a ShotSpotter alert. Charles Saunders, 28, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and later died at an area hospital, police said.
A 25-year-old man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 1400 block of Milton Avenue in Broadway East at 1:04 a.m. Thursday. The man was transferred to a hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
Earlier Wednesday, two men were shot in a double shooting in Sandtown-Winchester.
Police responded to the 1500 block of Baker Street at 6:19 p.m. in response to a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire. A 27-year-old man was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and transferred to an area hospital, police said.
A short time later, a 28-year-old man walked into an area hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his ankle. Neither man’s updated condition has been released.
A BPD spokesperson confirmed Thursday that both men were shot in the 1500 block of Baker Street.
At 7:49 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to the unit block of York Court in Guilford in response to a shooting. There, a 31-year-old man was found suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his left calf and was transferred to a hospital, police said.
Additionally, 79-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his shoulder in the 1200 block of East Lanvale Street in Oliver at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, police said. The man was alert when taken to the hospital.
