Baltimore Police: Two dead, five injured in Sunday incidents

Baltimore Police are investigating the Sunday afternoon shooting death of an unidentified man and the Sunday night cutting death of a woman in East Baltimore as well as three shootings that left five injured around the city.

According to police, officers arrived in the 2200 block of Kirk Ave. around 3 p.m. after ShotSpotter, an electronic system used to identify sounds of possible gunfire, alerted them of possible shots fired.


A statement by police said officers arrived and found a man with gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead by medics, according to police.

Around 9:43 p.m. Sunday, a patrol officer found a woman lying in the street in the 1100 block of N. Milton Ave., according to police.


Police said the woman had multiple wounds from a sharp-edged object. The woman was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, according to police.

Eastern District homicide detectives are investigating both deaths.

In Southwest Baltimore, police responded to two separate shootings earlier in the day Sunday. .

Around 4:34 p.m., police said, they responded to a Shot Spotter alert in the 2500 block of Ashton St. near the Westside Shopping Center. A short time later, police said officers went to an area hospital to investigate a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Three adults were also shot and injured early Sunday night in Southwest Baltimore, according to police.

Around 6:12 p.m., officers in the area heard gunfire and found three adults with gunshot wounds in the 200 block of S. Payson St.

All injuries were not life-threatening and the three victims were treated at area hospitals, according to police.

Southern District shooting detectives are investigating the shooting.


Police responded later in the night, around 8:22 p.m., to a shooting on the 3900 block of Cottage Ave., according to police.

Police said officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later transported to an area hospital, according to police.

Because of the severity of his injuries, police said Northern District shooting detectives and homicide investigators are investigating the shooting.
